Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies is a bakery owned by Maurice and Pamela Hill. Named after Makeda, the niece of The Hills has been baking in Memphis for 23 years. Makeda lost her battle to leukemia in 1997 and so it was the decision to name the family business after Makeda. Her presence lit up any room and they wanted the same glow to be present with the bakery. Makeda’s world famous butter cookies can be found in Krogers, Superlo Foods and Cash Savers. Makeda’s goal is to be a household name just like Oreos and Chips Ahoy. They are well on their way!!!!
