About BLK-Mart
BLK-Mart is a nationwide, community-built directory of Black-owned businesses — with physical locations and online-only businesses, plus a marketplace (coming soon) where those businesses will be able to sell directly. Anyone can browse for free.
What does "verified" vs. "reported" mean?
Every listing starts as reported — a community claim that a business is Black-owned. Listings become verified once our team reviews supporting evidence, such as a business certification or direct owner confirmation.
Is BLK-Mart free to use?
Yes. Anyone can browse the directory for free. Free account holders can also rate, recommend, comment on, and suggest businesses to add or remove.
How do I add a business that isn't listed?
Create a free account and suggest it from the Suggest a Business page. Every submission is reviewed before it appears publicly.
Does BLK-Mart list online-only businesses?
Yes. Businesses without a physical storefront can be listed as online-only and are browsable under the Websites section.
Can I sell products on BLK-Mart?
Yes. Any business listed in the directory can apply to open a storefront in the BLK-Mart Marketplace. BLK-Mart takes a commission on each sale rather than charging an upfront fee.
